“ Honor her for all that her hands have done”
-Proverbs 31:31
My Nona always taught me that every day should be Mother’s Day, and although I totally agree, I also believe it’s important to take the time that’s called for to celebrate the special women in our lives!
To my mom:
Thank you for answering the phone 15,000 times a day, specifically after you’ve already fallen asleep.
Thank you for the conversations that start with, “Mom, I just have to get this off my chest,” for rallying when I rant, and always reminding me to forgive and be kind before the phone call is over.
Thank you for making me feel like all of my ideas are good ones, and for always helping me find a way, even when you have no idea what I’m talking about because I’ve already talked to you about 14,999 other things.
Thank you helping me make a giant Italian dinner for the Jaguars 2014 offensive line. There is no one I’d rather get in a fight with over oregano.
Thank you for raising me, Rachel , and Joey, because I would otherwise have no idea how to raise the Iaquaniello kids 2.0 under my own roof.
Thank you for understanding as you read this, that I can’t make it too mushy because you are everything to me and if I dive any deeper I will be crying in front of my children.
I am the mother I am because of you, and I mean that with my whole heart.
To Denise:
Thank you for loving me for 11 years, and making it feel like you’ve known me for 30.
Thank you for listening to all of our crazy ideas, because between Drew and I, we have enough to drive someone to drink.
Thank you for always doing everything in your power to make those crazy ideas see the light of day. Drew and I would not be standing here together if it wasn’t for your selflessness.
Thank you for loving our kids for who they are, and always spoiling them more than we could ever ask for.
Thank you for being the most amazing role model of humility. Most people associate that with weakness, but humility is really just power under control, and you embody that every day.
Thank you for raising the man of my dreams, for that you have given me a lifetime of joy.
Thank you for making all of my friends jealous. Years ago, one of YOUR friends pulled me aside and told me that I had no idea how lucky I was to have you as a mother-in-law. She was wrong. I exactly do.
I wish the reach of these two special women could be widespread without bounds, but for now, here is a little piece of them that I can share with you all:
Momma Ike’s Classic Pizzelles
Denise’s Caesar Dressing
